In an effort to bring attention to the crime of domestic abuse, in 1991, the Zonta Club of
Melbourne renamed Zonta’s Young Women in Public Affairs scholarship
to honor Monica Jean Campbell, a high school senior killed by her
boyfriend. We established the Monica Jean Campbell Scholarship
Fund at The Community Foundation of Brevard. Our hope is to
raise enough funds to award the scholarship in perpetuity,
regardless of our annual fundraising success.
